“Light is sweet, and it is pleasant for the eyes to see the sun.”
Ecclesiastes 11:7 English Standard Version

Unfortunately, there are many pains and trials of life, but we can be encouraged to walk through those things knowing our eternal reward given to us in Jesus because of his sacrifice which reconciles us to the Father. Thankfully, there are also many joys and blessings of life as well.

One of the joys and things I love about having lived in Colorado is that we get plenty of days of sunshine. Even when there is bad weather, the sun is always waiting to show itself. I know there are plenty of places where it can be cloudy for weeks at a time, draining our energy. It is uplifting to wake up on a sunny morning. It seems as if the inconveniences of life are more readily dealt with when the sun is shining, it even gives us a “bring it on” attitude.

Every breath we take, every morning we wake up is a good gift from God. It is good to be alive even in the midst of trouble. I believe that these verses are symbolic of our life in Christ.

“In him was life, and the life was the light of men. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it… The true light, which gives light to everyone, was coming into the world.”
John 1:4-5,9 English Standard Version

For at one time you were darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Walk as children of light.”
Ephesians 5:8 English Standard Version

Christ is the true light of the world who gives life. If our life is in Christ, then so is our joy, and this joy cannot be taken from us. So enjoy life, and be an encouragement to your neighbor to enjoy their life as well!
