The Nature of Praise

by Desiree Bustamante

The beauty of nature proclaims the greatness of our Lord and Savior.

“I will exalt you, my God and King,
    and praise your name forever and ever.
I will praise you every day;
    yes, I will praise you forever. Great is the Lord! He is most worthy of praise!
    No one can measure his greatness.

Let each generation tell its children of your mighty acts;
    let them proclaim your power.
I will meditate on your majestic, glorious splendor
    and your wonderful miracles.”
Psalm 145: 1-5 New Living Translation

Signs of Spring take longer to arrive in much of Colorado than in some states. Snow still makes an appearance in April, and often in May until it warms up enough for flowers to emerge. But once they do, it’s exciting to see the beauty and majesty of the nature God created.

Spring also reminds us of the splendor of the risen Savior! Jesus was buried in a tomb near a garden and appeared to Mary there. Gardens are full of life and beauty and perhaps Jesus chose to appear there to reveal His life-filled body alongside nature’s splendor.

As spring continues to unfold its beauty, pause to let creation remind you of how wonderful the majesty of your Lord and Savior is. Give Him thanks and praise for His love toward you and for His splendor. He is great and worthy of your praise!
