This Way Out

Christ gives us THE way out of life’s chaos.

Right now, you are probably feeling stuck. Stuck in your home, stuck in long grocery store lines, stuck with online homework, stuck without a paycheck, stuck without your normal social connections.

No matter how we might be holding up, we all want to find the end to this chaos. If only there was a way out.

“Immediately one of them ran and got a sponge. He filled it with wine vinegar, put it on a staff, and offered it to Jesus to drink. The rest said, ‘Now leave him alone. Let’s see if Elijah comes to save him.’
And when Jesus had cried out again in a loud voice, he gave up his spirit.”
Matthew 27:48-50 New International Version

When Jesus hung on the cross, every follower, friend and enemy abandoned him. He hung there alone, no longer followed by enthusiastic disciples or those who worshiped Him for healing them. No one thought He was the Savior. No one believed He would rise again. He was treated like he had a virus. Jesus was dying in agony, alone and weighed down by the burden of our sin. Yet His death gave us the way out of a dark solitude and into the light of a hope-filled future.

While physically we will eventually resume a normal life, we may always have times of feeling isolated and stuck.

There is a way out. That way is faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. Faith in knowing that Christ lived through everything you are feeling and experiencing now. Faith that He will never abandon you. Faith that He will hold you in His strong arms and keep you safe. Hold on to the promise of victory in our Savior, who gave His very life to give you hope in scary times and happy times, times of turmoil and chaos, in times of abundance and freedom. He will uphold you now, tomorrow, always and forever.

“I am writing to all who have been called by God the Father, who loves you and keeps you safe in the care of Jesus Christ.
May God give you more and more mercy, peace, and love.”
Jude 1b-2 New Living Translation
