Undefeatable Armor

by Desiree Bustamante

Standing against Satan’s attacks requires God’s armor.

“Put on all of God’s armor so that you will be able to stand firm against all strategies of the devil. For you are not fighting against flesh-and-blood enemies, but against evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world, against mighty powers in this dark world, and against evil spirits in the heavenly places.”
Ephesians 6:11-12 New Living Translation

There has been a resurgence of movies based on comic book heroes. We all love a good vs. evil movie, where good defeats the enemy and all is right with the world. The evil characters always wear dark clothing, and are surrounded by blackness. The good characters have a unique power, and radiate beams of light when they are defeating the enemy.

In Scripture, light, which is the purity and power of God, always conquers the darkness of sin and evil. When we walk with Him we are in the light, and no harm will come to us even in this hostile world.

Yet, the strategies of the devil are many. He creates fear in us through evil in the world. Sometimes he lulls us into thinking the unseen world isn’t real or harmful. There are some people who are more fascinated by evil spirits and dark powers than are fearful of them.

Darkness covers the earth.

There is a battle of good and evil raging around us every moment. That is why God gave us the armor of His word, and prayer, to stand against Satan. We do not need to fear, though, for God has already won the battle through the death and resurrection of His son Jesus Christ. We have eternal life, and Satan will be defeated.

Use the armor God gave you to fight against evil, temptation, apathy, and fear every day. Allow the rays of light that are reflected off your armor to cover the world in the brightness of God.

Never forget that the Light wins!
