Uniqueness

Celebrating our uniqueness in Christ.

“I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are your works; my soul knows it very well.”
Psalm 139:14

My Grandmother would say, “There’s nothing crazier than people.” To put my own spin on that, I would say, “There’s nothing more unique than people.”

This is a picture of my daughter with pizza dough shaped into a blindfold, and one of her flip flops has come apart. She finds a way to have fun in all circumstances.

It’s a strange statement to think about people being so unique. He made us in His image, shouldn’t we all look alike?

“So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them.”
Genesis 1:27

What makes this verse awesome is the broad paintbrush, outward and inward, with which God paints the human race.

So many colors, personalities, likes, dislikes, passions, and interests.

We reflect the Alpha and Omega, the Creator of the universe. Collectively the body of Christ, when unified, reflects the image of Christ. The passion and intensity. The rest and peace. The nurturing and comfort.

When we come together with hearts and minds turned toward Him, we are able to connect to each other in a supernatural way.

“Now the full number of those who believed were of one heart and soul, and no one said that any of the things that belonged to him was his own, but they had everything in common.”
Acts 4:32

This post was prompted by someone who apologized for being too passionate. I told them no apology was needed. In fact, I hope they would realize how much their response is needed.

We need passionate people who love, and care, with their whole being. People who are willing to lay their lives down for their friends and family.

Equal to passion is care, comfort, stability, nurturing, gentleness, encouragement, and many more attributes that God has deposited in the body of Christ.

We don’t have to worry about what we are lacking. As we grow in Him, He will make corrections in our character and disposition.

All He wants is all of us. As we surrender to God, and let Him love us, all of the concerns, and worry, about what we are not will disappear.
