When riding a bicycle, all the parts must be in good working order for the journey to be successful. A missing or flat tire, faulty brakes or no handlebars will make the trip impossible or dangerous. Without every component performing its purpose, you will not make it to your destination.

God designed each of us with a special function in mind. We may not be able to go far on our own, but when we join our unique gift with others, together we can set goals and accomplish much while we give glory to God, love our neighbors and work to further the kingdom of heaven.

We may think that our gift is common or less useful, so we discount the value of the part God has given us. When Jesus called each disciple, they were ordinary flawed men, yet God uniquely endowed each one with a gift to accomplish His plan. Moving forward together with the Holy Spirit’s power, they spread the gospel throughout the world.

Epic bike rides start with seeing a challenge ahead and working to conquer it. Maybe you see an urgent need in your community. Discover what gifts God has given you, then ask God to lead you to find others who desire to use their gifts to help address the need.

Remember, no matter how steep the ride, the Holy Spirit has power to unite each person to work together and overcome any obstacles. Trust Him with your valuable, God-given gift to use you in community with others to accomplish His work on earth for His eternal kingdom.
