The Birth That Changed Everything…

“For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given…”
Isaiah 9:6a

This is a picture of our adorable, new granddaughter.  It is amazing how this little child has changed so many things in the lives of her parents and her grandparents!  A new child changes the perspective and reality of everyone involved in his or her life.  Everything from finances to sleep patterns to basic everyday responsibilities changes with the birth of a new child.

If this little girl can change all our lives this much, how much more did the birth of God’s own Son, our Lord Jesus Christ, change everything!  For by the incarnation of His Son, the Father has brought salvation and pardon from sin to us and opened the way to eternal life.  Through the Word made flesh, God has come to us and dwells among us and brings forgiveness and peace and joy.  The angels sang in mighty chorus to the shepherds abiding in the fields, announcing that the King of the world had been born!

This Child, this Son of God, has brought the true Light that drives away the darkness of sin and death.  “To all who received Him, to those who believed in His name, He gave the right to become children of God.”  This little Child is our Savior, and to all who would receive Him, the Lord makes them His children also.

What a celebration for what a birth!  This Child, this Jesus, has changed everything!  And for all of you who receive Him, He changes you forever!
