Defined by Christ
“For as many of you as were baptized into Christ have put on Christ.”
Galatians 3:27 English Standard Version
Photographers often frame a picture within a picture. In this image, the larger, mostly living trees frame the smaller dead tree in between them. This causes the viewers eye to go to that tree. There would be a much different feeling to this picture if that tree were standing naked out in the field.
What frames your life? What are the influences that surround you and shape you, even drawing attention to you? Some influences might be obvious as these trees, others more invisible as if you were standing by yourself.
Paul reminds us that we who have been baptized into Christ are wrapped in him like a baby. Yes, there are external forces that want to shape us, but it is Christ, his death and resurrection that truly shapes who we are and what we do.
It is Christ who frames your life.
