What’s Our Worth?

If you know anything about antiques, the label or marks beneath an item are invaluable to help identify who made the piece, where it was made and the year of creation. This can lead to discovering its current worth through consulting an antique expert or searching in a vintage reference book.

Because we know who made us, we already understand our significance to the one who created us in His image. If we feel unsure of our worth, we can look up our value in the words of our very own Creator.

“For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago.”
Ephesians 2:10 New Living Translation

“Even before he made the world, God loved us and chose us in Christ to be holy and without fault in his eyes.”
Ephesians 1:4 New Living Translation

God not only made us but has kept us from shattering into pieces when we fall. We hold our value to Him no matter the economic times, our perceived usefulness or fading beauty. Through His Son Jesus, He rescued us from the corner of the attic, restoring us like a precious heirloom to a place of honor. It cost Jesus His life to redeem us because we are more treasured to our Savior than anything else on earth.

Your worth is far above any object in the universe. You are a loved, cherished child of the Heavenly Father and King. “Child of God” is the only label identifying you as His beloved that you’ll ever need.

“See how very much our Father loves us, for he calls us his children, and that is what we are!”
1 John 3:1 New Living Translation
