Where is Your Focus?

by Desiree Bustamante

Don’t let your focus stray from your Creator.

In photography, an object might be taken up close with the background visible, but out of focus, to give context and to highlight the main subject. In this photo the focus is drawn to a pine cone, yet the background tells you it was taken in a forest.

God yearns for us to focus on Him exclusively. Yet sometimes we glance away to see what’s in the background. We long to solely follow our dreams and aspirations. We become like a little child who takes hold of their father’s hand and says, “Daddy, over here! I want to go over here!” When we don’t abide with God and only pursue our ambitions, it creates frustration and anxiety. We feel God is not answering our prayers. Our focus shifts to us. We leave God in the back of the picture.

“For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago.”
Ephesians 2:10 New Living Translation

Our Heavenly Father designed and prepared a unique course for you, for His purpose. God wants you to know Him so well that His goals and desires are living exclusively in your heart.

Is there anything you are pursuing that you feel anxious and unfocused about? Are you walking in focus with Christ or alone with your own intentions?

Hold on tightly to The One who loves and cherishes an unconditional relationship with you. You are God’s masterpiece. He has created an ultimate plan that is yours alone for His Kingdom, far more amazing than you could ever imagine!

“Yet I still belong to you;
    you hold my right hand
You guide me with your counsel,
    leading me to a glorious destiny.
Whom have I in heaven but you?
    I desire you more than anything on earth.”
Psalm 73:23-25 New Living Translation
