“’What’s more, I am with you, and I will protect you wherever you go. One day I will bring you back to this land. I will not leave you until I have finished giving you everything I have promised you.’
Then Jacob awoke from his sleep and said, ‘Surely the Lord is in this place, and I wasn’t even aware of it!’”
Genesis 28:15-16 New Living Translation

Do you feel like you are trapped in a corn maze wondering how you will come out of 2020? Are you wishing you could go back to what was comfortable and peaceful, or looking ahead and wishing you could skip over the remaining months and start anew?

God was speaking to Jacob in a dream, bestowing blessings on his family and his future just as he had blessed Abraham.  In addition to land and many descendants, God promised Jacob that He would be with him wherever he went and would protect him.

There are many verses that promise God’s protection and guidance through every daunting day we face in our lives. Any challenge that seems intimidating is no match for God’s fierce love for and safekeeping of His children. He freely gives gentle guidance and invaluable wisdom through His word and those quiet moments in prayer, when we stand trembling in our own corn fields wondering which direction to go. No matter what confronts you, be aware that your Lord and Savior is in this place of uncertainty and He has a plan even now for your life. Especially this day, seek out His truth and listen to His words meant to transform your heart and mind. Blessing will come out of chaos if you embrace and pursue Christ, as He cherishes you, through the days ahead.
