“And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God’s love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow—not even the powers of hell can separate us from God’s love.”
Romans 8:38 New Living Translation

Many people love a monster movie, especially when monsters are pitted against each other. You choose which one to root for as you watch the battle unfold until one wins and the other loses.

But the fun ends when the monsters become real.

There are many monsters in this world. Some take the form of humans unleashing their selfishness and power, causing only pain with their decisions and actions.  Some exist within us and are made up of dark memories and bad experiences. Sometimes misguided ideas, distorted truths and flawed perceptions combine to create a terrifying monster that threatens to consume our thoughts and destroy our hope and peace.

These scary monsters can derail our life’s purpose when we spend our time running and hiding from them. But Jesus faced the monsters for us. He overcame all present and future evil when He arose from the grave on Easter morning.

“I have told you all this so that you may have peace in me. Here on earth, you will have many trials and sorrows. But take heart because I have overcome the world.”
John 16:33 New Living Translation

Do not fear the evil you see in this world. Let your risen Savior fight the battle over your thoughts as He fought Satan for your very life.  Trust Him to dispel the darkness in your mind when you feel overwhelmed by the evil on this earth. Always remember that “He is Risen! He is Risen indeed.” Death and evil can no longer harm you!
