Peace

The uncertainty of the events in the world can be enough to send us spinning daily. Not only reading the word of God but absorbing it into the depth of our souls is so important as we desire to stop spinning. Sometimes just saying the word, “Jesus” is all we can do on these days. I encourage everyone to latch onto the most steady, never changing, always loving God.
My daughter asked how rain was made which led to a discussion that if God didn’t breathe his life into every living thing nothing would exist. When we think about how the whole world is here because God chose for it to exist, it changes how we view life, enemies, challenges, victories. Every person is here at this time and this place for a purpose and a reason. We are experiencing life in this way in this time for some purpose. Nothing can be a coincidence because once God is known to us we realize He is a person that is very intentional. All the laws of nature are written by Him. Science and God cannot be separated because He created everything that scientists study. He is not only at the center of all creation, He is the creator of all things.
Because of this we can be at peace. Peace in our homes, jobs, society. Peace does not depend on quiet or lack of chaos, it depends on the Holy Spirit being invited into the situation of our mind, body and soul. We are created to be great receivers, vessels of the same spirit that was in Jesus when He traversed the Earth.
The Psalms contain a big dose of peace. I encourage you to read a Psalm every day. It’s just what the world needs right now.
“Why do the nations rage and the peoples plot in vain? The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against the Lord and against his Anointed, saying,“Let us burst their bonds apart and cast away their cords from us.” He who sits in the heavens laughs;…Now therefore, O kings, be wise; be warned, O rulers of the earth. Serve the Lord with fear, and rejoice with trembling…Blessed are all who take refuge in him.”
