Now What?

 “Why do you complain, Jacob? Why do you say, Israel,
“My way is hidden from the Lord; my cause is disregarded by my God”?
Do you not know? Have you not heard?
The Lord is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth.
He will not grow tired or weary, and his understanding no one can fathom.
He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak.
Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall;
but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles;
they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.”

Isaiah 40:27-29 New International Version

It happens all too often. We are on the road, living our lives day by day, when suddenly we are directed to take a different route. We have no idea where we are, how far we must go down this road, or what condition it’s in. We worry about what condition it will leave us in.

Why can’t we just stay on the course we were traveling?

There are as many answers to those questions as there are people who ask them. Facing unexpected change, health struggles, financial difficulties, family issues, and emotional, or spiritual, strife is common to all of us. We cry out to God, pray for relief, and continue to praise Him, but weariness and discouragement settles in our minds.

Still we have this comfort that even though we grow tired of the struggles of this life, God never grows tired or weary.

Even though we can’t possibly understand Him fully on this earth, He gives strength to us exhausted, and disheartened, people. He replenishes us with His power, and His daily grace, to minister to us when we are weak. Put all your hope in Him. He promises to renew your strength for every change in the road. He promises that you can soar like an eagle through any trial.

Hold fast to His promises and allow Him to navigate the road with you.
