Scattered But Not Shaken

You cannot be shaken, for God’s wisdom is always in your heart.

“I will bless the Lord who guides me;
    even at night my heart instructs me.
I know the Lord is always with me.
    I will not be shaken, for he is right beside me.
No wonder my heart is glad, and I rejoice.
    My body rests in safety.
For you will not leave my soul among the dead
    or allow your holy one to rot in the grave.
You will show me the way of life,
    granting me the joy of your presence
    and the pleasures of living with you forever.“
Psalm 16:7-11 New Living Translation

In spring new pine cones develop on evergreen branches and, with enough water and sun, grow into mature cones that carry life-producing seeds. But often a strong storm with forceful winds can buffet the branches, hurling the cones to the ground. If they are not fully mature, they may contain no seeds to propagate a new tree. If the cones that fall are more developed, seeds may be scattered and find their way into the soil, producing a new tree to renew the forest.

When we seek out God’s wisdom, it transforms us into mature Christians, able to withstand the storms that come in life. When we spend time absorbing His words, God’s teaching and guidance are embedded into our hearts, providing us with the joy and security of His presence. Those seeds of God’s word can then plant hope to others who may be in peril, calming their fears and leading them to salvation in Jesus Christ.

Spiritual growth can only come from the God who loves you and gave you His word so you will never be shaken in any storm. Rejoice in His instruction that leads you to the pleasure of living with Him forever.
