The Perfect Architect

The LORD must build your house if you desire an indestructible foundation.

“As for everyone who comes to me and hears my words and puts them into practice, I will show you what they are like. They are like a man building a house, who dug down deep and laid the foundation on rock. When a flood came, the torrent struck that house but could not shake it, because it was well built. But the one who hears my words and does not put them into practice is like a man who built a house on the ground without a foundation. The moment the torrent struck that house,
it collapsed and its destruction was complete.”

Luke 6:47-49 New International Version

When a building is constructed to last, a good foundation and strong support beams are crucial to withstand any stress or storm.

So it is with us as believers. If we strive to build ourselves up, our foundation may have the illusion of stability based on the world’s perishable words of wisdom. But that foundation will crumble when we face discouragement or doubt our ability to overcome any seemingly insurmountable problem.

God is our master architect, conforming us into the image and likeness of Christ. Just as a building takes time to construct, we are also a work in progress. Within our own hearts He is cementing His love, grace, humility, kindness, and patience. He designs a perfect plan for our lives.

Now we won’t become overwhelmed when facing hard times. Our wall of faith won’t ever fall in the face of any storm, knowing that He will never abandon us or let us down. Our faith grows confident, realizing we can achieve impossible tasks when God is in control.

Submit to His leading each day, knowing God will never stop until His work is finished and He one day returns for you.
